Marking Period 4
Tuesday, April 14 - June 10
Middle School Parents & Students:
Students should join the appropriate Google Classroom for my class. I sent email invitations to all 5-8 students for MP4. Please go to Google Classroom to get updates on Art Tech assignments. Students can email me from their school email or send me private messages in Google Classroom if they have any questions. Parents can also email me with questions.
I will notify you via email by Monday, April 13 regarding an introductory online group discussion to kick off marking period 4. It will either take place in Zoom or Google Meet.
Elementary School Parents & Students:
K -2: Please continue with coding practice. You can also read books in RazKids.
3rd Grade: Please continue with coding practice, keyboarding, RazKids or Wixie.
I am sending home 1st and 2nd grade log in cards, with a letter from me. The cards are available for you to pick up from 10:00 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Monday, March 16. The cards are clipped to the letter and have your child's name on the front card. Please make sure you pick up the specific card/letter that has your child's name on it. Students can use their cards to access the websites we use in school. I've also added 2 accounts for all students: Tynker and Kodables, both are "learning to code" websites.
For Mrs. Davies' class: I have a folder with two cut & paste activities and a log in card for them to try Tynker and Kodables. Log in cards have your child's name on them and are clipped the folder. Please make sure you pick up the specific card/folder with your child's name on it.
***1st Grade NOTE: I sent home the cards for Mrs. Lovejoy's class on Thursday, but not the letter. Please pick up a letter.
***3rd Grade NOTE: I sent home the cards for Mr. Oliveri's class on Thursday and sent a message to parents via Class Dojo. Miss Skiba and Mrs. Rosnell have their students' cards, so please contact them for usernames and passwords.
How to Access the Coding Websites:
For Kodables: follow the instructions on the folded paper that has been added to your log in cards.
For Tynker K-2: If you are using Tynker Jr. on an iPad, open the app. Select the Owl to launch the camera. Point your camera at the QR code that has been added to the log in card. If you are using Tynker.com, select Sign-In. Select the Tynker SmartPass option in the Student Sign in dialog box. Point your iPad camera at the QR code that has been added to the log in card.
